With Neptune nearing opposition
I gave imaging it a go tonight.
It took a good while to get it to come into focus in the frame of the
webcam through the ETX.
I also tried to use qa 2X barlow but it's too faint to pick up on the
chip of the webcam.
It was only mag +7.84 and few degrees from the full Moon but the blue
colour is still very noticable.
(I did no colour adjusting in this image) |

of 29.25 Au. (4,375,741,500 KM)
The destinctive blue colour of this planet is quite noticable even
through a small telescope.

This is from stacking 4 frames at ISO
1600 for 30 seconds. Equip = Meade 12”LX200 + canon EOS 300d +
registax2d+ photoshop. Its current magnitude is approximately 14, it was
not visible that night visually through the telescope.

The planet Uranus close to opposition.
LX200 + Philips webcam, Over 600 frames stacked in registax2d, this
planet is right on the limits of the camera hence the bright background.
The globe is only 3.7 arcseconds is diameter so I used a 2x apoc Barlow,
you can make out the light blue colour of the planet. Its magnitude was
5.7.
